Daufuskie Island, the Secret Sister of Hilton Head Island, is one of the most exciting, enchanting, and even exotic destinations for a wedding. If in your location search you find yourself drawn to exotic destinations like Hawaii or the Caribbean, yet the expense and travel time are issues, Daufuskie Island is the answer.

If your dream wedding thoughts range from traditional to a wedding on the beach, from tuxedos to flowered island shirts, from catered dining to favored BBQ recipes, from being whisked away in a horse drawn wedding carriage to a golf cart, Daufuskie Island may be the exotic isle for your wedding. If the vision for your wedding day includes something beyond the ordinary, consider the option of a carriage ride. Perhaps upon conclusion of your wedding ceremony, a carriage ride is the perfect opportunity for just the two of you to privately rejoice in all that has taken place and all that is yet to come. Call the Equestrian Center at 843-341-4894 for details and reservations.

Daufuskie Island, which can only be reached by ferry and just 1 nautical mile from Hilton Head Island, is a sub-tropical island with miles of wide, secluded sandy beaches and beautiful forests. This enchanting island paradise offers a magical retreat into an exotic world of natural splendor and serenity. With only a few hundred year round residents, and nary a car to be found, the golf cart becomes the basic form of transportation. It is in this quiet peaceful environment, devoid of the hustle and bustle of the real world, that family and friends reconnect and new relationships begin in celebration of your marriage.

Sea Oak Manor
An incredible venue for your dream wedding is (exchanging vows at) Sea Oak Manor. This private home with eight bedrooms and two queen beds in each bedroom, can accommodate up to 32 guests! This incredible property offers two separate game rooms, one devoted to playing pool and the other devoted to playing cards. The elegant entry hall, with beautiful staircase, great for wedding party photos, leads to a second family room and to the grand great room..

The beautiful pool & spa, just a few feet away, belongs to the community and is rarely used by the members/guests in the area. The wide sandy beach in front of Sea Oak Manor runs for miles in either direction and offers a simply spectacular opportunity for your wedding by the water. With the sand at your feet, the blue sky overhead and the sound of the waves lazily rolling on shore, this beautiful beach will fulfill your fantasy seashore wedding dream. Additionally, should you desire any type of tenting, the estate offers a magnificent 2 acre oceanfront yard that will easily accommodate any size tent or tents.

Golf
Another fun and exciting dimension to your wedding planning is Daufuskie Island golf. At Sea Oak Manor you are a 2 to 3 minute walk from the Bloody Point Clubhouse. Playing 18 holes was never this convenient. Bloody Point is a Tom Weiskopf / Jay Morrish designed course, which flows through beautiful coastal marshes, an array of scenic lagoons and forest. While the name implies a challenge, the course is very playable and even forgiving, so golfers will enjoy their performance at any level. In addition to this exciting course you may also select the Melrose Course given four and a half start by Golf Digest Magazine. Melrose offers challenging play and incomparable ocean vews as well as lush subtropical forests and picturesque lagoons.
