Parking

Parking is free in lots and, while there is security, you are advised to remove all valuables and lock doors and windows.

Ferry Trip

The ferry trip is approximately one hour through the beautiful South Carolina Intercostal Waterway.  While the distance traveled is 15 nautical miles, for a portion of the trip you will be moving slowly through no-wake zones set up to protect the ecologically sensitive shoreline.  Each ferry offers lavatories and complimentary coffee, water and ice.

Upon arrival at Daufuskie Island, the shuttle bus will take you to your final destination.  Your luggage, golf clubs, etc will arrive about one hour later.

The Ferry

Your travel to and from Daufuskie Island will be aboard one of the luxury ferry boats.  On board, you will have the option of choosing between the comfort of cushioned seating in the interior cabin, which offers air conditioning or heating, or you may elect to choose the exhilarating experience of the outer deck with fresh salt air, sunshine and ocean breezes.

The Ferry Experience

Unlike many modes of transportation, your vacation experience truly begins as your ferry departs.  There is something totally magical about leaving the Hilton Head dock as the pleasant ride seems to transport you into a vacation dimension that leaves behind the stress and rigors of mainland life.  As you make your way slowly past shrimp boats, picturesque marinas, beautiful pristine shorelines and oyster reefs, you soon realize that you have begun to feel the excitement that only a vacation can bring.  It is not unusual for dolphins to be seen, and may at times seem to be guiding you to your ultimate destination.  As you approach the landing dock, take note, you have decompressed and you are ready to enter the serenity, natural beauty and quiet excitement of Daufuskie Island.

Luggage and Bikes

Drive up and drop your luggage and clubs off at the luggage processing point near the pier.  At the luggage check in, a baggage handler will tag each piece of luggage.  It is important that the correct address of your rental property is written on the tag.

Each guest may take on board two pieces of luggage as well as a golf bag at no charge.  Each additional piece of luggage is subject to a $5.00 charge, and each bike will incur a $20.00 charge.  You will be shuttled to your vacation destination first while your luggage will be transported separately and delivered following your arrival.  Generally expect your luggage to arrive one hour later.

Special Note: Cameras, laptops and other sensitive equipment should be hand carried and not transported as luggage.
