Daufuskie Island can only be reached by ferry. All guests must make their own ferry reservations. Reservations are required for all ferry rides. Parking

There is a $3.00 per day charge for parking at both Broad Creek Marina.

Ferry Trip

The Daufuskie Island ferry trip is approximately one hour through the beautiful South Carolina Intercostal Waterway. While the distance traveled is several nautical miles, for a portion of the trip you will be moving slowly through no-wake zones set up to protect the ecologically sensitive shoreline. Each ferry offers lavatories and complimentary coffee, water and ice.Upon arrival at Daufuskie Island, a fee based shuttle bus will take you to your final destination. Your luggage, golf clubs, etc will arrive about one hour later.

The Ferry

Your travel to and from Daufuskie Island will be aboard one of the ferry boats. On board, you will have the option of choosing between the comfort of cushioned seating in the interior cabin, which offers air conditioning or heating, or you may elect to choose the exhilarating experience of the outer deck with fresh salt air, sunshine and ocean breezes.

The Ferry Experience

Unlike many modes of transportation, your Daufuskie vacation experience truly begins as your ferry departs. There is something totally magical about leaving the Hilton Head dock as the pleasant ride seems to transport you into a vacation dimension that leaves behind the stress and rigors of mainland life. As you make your way slowly past picturesque marinas, beautiful pristine shorelines and oyster reefs, you soon realize that you have begun to feel the excitement that only a vacation can bring. It is not unusual for dolphins to be seen, and may at times seem to be guiding you to your ultimate destination. As you approach the landing dock, take note, you have decompressed and you are ready to enter the serenity, natural beauty and quiet excitement of Daufuskie Island.  

Luggage and Bikes on the Ferry

 With Calibogue Cruises, passengers are allowed two complimentary carry on pieces of luggage.  Each additional tagged piece of luggage is subject to a $10.00 charge, each bike will incur a $10.00 charge, and coolers a $10 charge.  All charges are “round-trip.  You will be shuttled to your vacation destination first while your luggage will be transported separately and delivered following your arrival. Generally expect your luggage to arrive one hour later.  If there are extreme amounts of luggage for the morning ferries, all luggage will be transported on a later ferry with expected delivery time to your lodging destination after 5:00 p.m.  For departure from Daufuskie Island, guest luggage arriving less than 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure may be transported on a later ferry.  Please note that there are separate charges for land travel. See “Land Transportation”. 

Special Note: Cameras, laptops and other sensitive equipment should be hand carried and not transported as luggage.
